What is skin pigmentation?
Excessive skin pigmentation is a result of abnormal production and deposition of melanin within the skin. Melanocytes are pigment-producing cells. The number of melanocytes present in our skin will usually determine our skin colour. Production of melanin is dependent on UV or sun exposure, and is a natural protective mechanism of the skin.
Hyper pigmentation/ Sun damaged, areas are darker than the rest of the skin, resulting from excess melanin production within the area.

Is the pigmentation treatment painful?
You may experience a slight tingling/ burning during treatment. To help manage comfort and safety, the laser is equipped with a cold spray which cools the skin before,

How long do pigmentation treatments take?
Treatments can take 5 to 30 minutes or more depending on size of the treatment area. This is best discussed with our Clinician before treatment.
How many pigmentation treatments are needed?
Most patients experience considerable improvement after 1 to 4 treatments depending upon the skin condition and level
of pigmentation being treated.
How long will results last?
While treatments can help remove the signs of sun damage and pigmentation/ ageing they cannot stop the process. Exceptional results can be maintained with follow-up treatments and a daily sun block regimen and good quality skin care routine.

How many treatments will I need?
Laser treatments are typically done at 3 to 4 week intervals. Depending on your skin type, size of the vein and how your vessels react, several treatments may be required. Smaller veins respond more quickly to treatment. Most clients will require 1 to 4 treatments.
Are the results permanent?
Yes, in most cases the vascular lesions are permanently removed however, in some cases you may require additional treatments to maintain results.
